The purpose of MRC is to focus on issues that affect our rural communities and to amplify our collective voice in advocating for solutions that address our unique needs. MRC has been working to concentrate on actionable issues that affect the majority of our member rural counties, and also to extend our outreach to potential members. We have had several new counties join in 2023, and we believe that we continue to be stronger together.

We strive to make participation in MRC cost effective and accessible. Our 2024 Dues Structure and Meeting Schedule are as follows:

MRC Annual Dues Based on County Population

0-10,000 = $2,200.00

10,001 - 20,000 = $2,300.00

20,001 - 30,000 = $2,500.00

30,001 - 40,000 = $2,700.00

MRC remains an affiliate of the Association of Minnesota Counties. As you may be aware, over the past year MRC changed our staffing model and are currently utilizing the Capitol Hill Associates team for administrative services and advocacy. Anne Kilzer, Britta Torkelson, Rob Vanasek and Sam Walseth bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to support our efforts not only at the State Capitol but also with state agencies and other partners.

If you have attended one of our recent meetings as a guest, we hope you have a favorable impression of our work. We are building on a long history of being a strong voice for our rural communities, and we encourage you to join our mission to make Greater Minnesota an even greater place to live.
